Some stories aren’t ours to tell

Some stories aren’t ours to tell.

I was having a massage and as usual the knots in my back were hard to dislodge.  My beautiful friend asked me, “What are you holding in your body?”

“What aren’t you talking about?”

I took a deep breath and simply said, “Some stories are not mine to tell.”

That’s the truth isn’t it?

Whenever we love we are going to attract stories.

Peoples stories are as diverse as the story books in a library.  There are sad stories and good stories, there are stories which make you laugh and want to dance.  Then there are stories which break your heart, impact your emotional world but which speak to the resilience, the brave and the courage of the one telling the story.

justThese stories are stories we absorb into our bodies.  They become part of our bones, our heart, our seeing, our nerves, our breathing.  They are stories which become a part of us.  These stories cannot be voiced simply because some stories aren’t ours to tell.

Love doesn’t unwish, re write or simplify the story.  Love simply holds the story connecting hearts to one another.

In this space of connection, love grows and where ever love grows, healing happens.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of putting broken pottery pieces back together with gold.  it is often referred to as the art of precious scars.

We are all broken pieces connected through our shared stories.  Love is the gold dust that runs through the brokenness and connects us together.

Our lives are richer for all stories even the ones which  form knots in our backs which cause us to cry out.  It’s simply the gold connecting us to love.

So if you are feeling a little knotted, a little tired maybe just maybe it’s because you are holding onto a story of love.  Some stories aren’t ours to tell.
